Arthur Bouwman is an anesthesiologist with expertise in cardiothoracic anesthesia and has a special interest for perioperative ultrasound applications. His research interests focus on perioperative echocardiography and monitoring, ultrasound guided vascular access and regional anesthesia.

Marc BuiseMarc Buise, MD PhD, Anesthesiologist-Intensivist, Catharina Hospital Eindhoven
Marc Buise is an anesthesiologist and ICU-physician with special interest in Obesity, Oncology and ICU after care. His Ultra sound interest is focused on vascular access and regional anesthesia.
He is a teacher in anesthesia for residents and nurses and contributor to many clinical immersions on bariatrics, cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic chemotherapy and Oesaphogotomy.
Patrick Houthuizen, MD PhD, Cardiologist, Catharina Hospital EindhovenPatrick Houthuizen is a clinical cardiologist with expertise in non-invasive imaging, including echocardiography. His research interests focus on speckle tracking echocardiography and cardiomechanics.
Chris de KorteChris de Korte, Professor of Medical Ultrasound Imaging, University of Twente / Professor of Medical Ultrasound Technologies, Radboud UniversityChris L. de Korte is Professor of Medical Ultrasound Techniques at the Radboud University Medical Center and professor of Medical Ultrasound imaging at Twente University. He founded the Medical UltraSound Imaging Centre at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. His research is on development of functional ultrasound imaging techniques for cardiovascular and oncological applications. He is recipient of the NWO VENI, VIDI and VICI grant and president of the Netherlands Society for Medical Ultrasound.
masimmo mischiMassimo Mischi, Professor Model-based quantitative analysis of biomedical signals, Eindhoven University of Technology Massimo Mischi received the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from La Sapienza University, Rome, Italy, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in 2004. In 2007, he was an Assistant Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, TU/e. In 2011, he was an Associate Professor with TU/e and founded the Biomedical Diagnostics Research Laboratory, with focus on model-based quantitative analysis of biomedical signals with applications ranging from electrophysiology to diagnostic imaging. He is currently a Full Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, TU/e. He has coauthored over 300 peer-reviewed publications, 14 patents, one book, and 10 book chapters. Prof. Mischi is a Board Member of the Imaging Section of the European Association of Urology, the Secretary of the Dutch Society of Medical Ultrasound, and the Chairman of the IEEE EMBS Benelux Chapter. He serves as associate editor for several journals such as IEEE T-UFFC, IEEE RBME, and the Elsevier journals CMPB and IRBM. He was a recipient of the STW VIDI Grant in 2009, the ERC Starting Grant in 2011, and the ERC Proof of Concept in 2019 for his research on angiogenesis imaging by ultrasound.
peter van de puttePeter Van de Putte, Staff member anesthesiology, Imeldaziekenhuis Bonheiden / Mentor European Society of Anaesthesiology Peter Van de Putte studied medicine at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium where he obtained his degree in 1991. He received his specialty qualification in anaesthesiology in 1996. From 1996 until 2019, he was staff member of the Department of Anesthesiology at the Hospital AZ Monica, Antwerp, Belgium. He currently is staff member of the department of anaesthesiology at the Imeldaziekenhuis in Bonheiden, Belgium.
His interests are loco-regional anesthesia, point-of-care ultrasound and resident teaching. Most of his current research involves point-of-care gastric ultrasound ( gastric PoCUS ) and its development as an application for assessment of aspiration risk in perioperative patients. He has given countless lectures and workshops and published extensively on this theme. It is also the topic of the PhD he defended on May 1st, 2019 at the Radboud University, the Netherlands ( PhD title “Point-of-care gastric ultrasound: an aspiration risk assessment tool”).
Together with Professor Perlas from UHN, Toronto, Canada, he developed a free, unsponsored, educational website that is the standard in online education for gastric ultrasonography. He is also organizing director of the PoCUS education of the Imeldaziekenhuis, Bonheiden and he is also a mentor of the European Society of Anesthesiology.
